What you need to know

We are so excited to join with the Northern Hills Community Church congregation for three combined services on Sunday November 6th, 13th, and 20th. In order to prepare for this experience, we want to provide you with an overview of what you can expect, from where to park to where to get your coffee.

Where is Northern Hills Community Church located?

Northern Hills Community Church is located at 2740 E Union Hills Dr, Phoenix, AZ 85050 on the corner of 28th Street and Union Hills.

There are 4 entrances to the campus:

1 entrance from 27th Street
2 entrances from Union Hills
1 entrance from 28th Street

What time is service?

Service will start at 10:30 am in the Worship Center (also called D Building).

Where should I park?

There are 2 parking lots at Northern Hills Community Church, the west parking lot and the east parking lot.

The west parking lot can be accessed from Union Hills or 27th Street. This parking lot is closest to the Worship Center. If you don’t have kids checking in to Kids Ministry, this may be the best parking lot option for you on a Sunday morning.

The east parking lot can be accessed from Union Hills or 28th Street. This parking lot is closest to the Kids Ministry Building (also called B Building, with the cross on top of it). If you have kids, this may be the best parking lot option for you on a Sunday morning. The east parking lot is also closest to A Building, where our Youth Group and Bible Studies meet. If you are participating in either of these, this parking lot might be your best option on Sunday morning.

How will I know where to go?

Along with signage on the street and parking lot entrances, we will have signs on campus to direct you. There will also be greeters on campus who will be able to answer questions and guide you to the correct locations.

Will there be programming for my kids?

Yes! There will be 2 experiences on Sunday morning for kids (Birth through 6th Grade). Both will be a fun, safe, and gospel-centered environment where they learn about Jesus through engaging lessons and hands-on activities.

From 9:00 - 10:15 am is our Kid Community Hour. This experience is available for kids of families who are serving or participating in a Bible Study on Sunday morning. All kids (Birth through 6th Grade) will gather in the chapel of the Kids Ministry Building (also called B Building, the one with the cross on top of it). Kids will break out into groups based on age where they will participate in a gospel-based lesson and activity.

From 10:15 - 11:45 am is our Kids Ministry Hour. This is our primary Sunday morning experience for kids (Birth through 6th Grade). During this time, kids will break out into the following classrooms:

Nursery (Birth - 18 months)
Toddler (18 months - 3 years old + must be potty trained)
Preschool (3 years old - 5 years old)
Lower Elementary (Kindergarten - 2nd grade)
Upper Elementary (3rd - 6th grade)

Our Nursery through Preschool classes focus on learning more about Jesus and serving others. Our Elementary classrooms will be taught an age-appropriate lesson that is based on the same scripture the adults are learning from in the Worship Center. There will also be opportunities for games, hands-on activities, snacks, and worship.

NOTE: If your child is participating in both Kids Community Hour and Kids Ministry Hour, you do not need to pick them up or re-register them in between experiences.

Where do I pick up and drop off my kids?

All Kids Ministry classrooms are located in B Building, the one with the cross on top! There will be signage on Sunday morning along with greeters to help direct you to the correct place.

Check-in tablets will be set up in the lobby of the Kids Ministry Building. We will have check-in systems available for both churches. After check-in, families will be given a ticket.

You will pick up your kids from their assigned classrooms following the worship service. Be prepared to show your pick-up ticket at this time. Kids Ministry volunteers will be available to assist you.

Will kids join us for worship?

Yes! During the end of the worship service, kids in the Preschool through Upper Elementary classrooms will walk with their leaders and a member of the security team to the Worship Center and join us for our time of worship and singing.

After we are finished singing, the kids leaders and security will escort the kids back to their classrooms. Parents will pick up their kids from their classrooms in the Kids Ministry Building.

Is there a Youth Group?

Yes! Youth will meet on Sunday morning at 9:00 am in A Building. The east parking lot may be the best location for you to park if you are participating in the Youth Group hour. There will be signs on campus to direct you to the building or you can always ask one of our greeters.

Where does my Bible study meet?

Bible studies from both Mission Valley and Northern Hills will meet in A Building, which is located nearest the east parking lot. The two rooms facing the parking lot are where groups will meet. There will also be greeters near this area to help direct you.

Will there be coffee?

Yes! A hospitality table will be available with coffee, tea, and water in the Worship Center.

Should I invite my friends to a combined service?

Absolutely! Any Sunday is a great day to invite a friend to church and these Sundays will be no different. Everyone will be welcomed and made to feel at home.
